Recording Acoustic Guitar - Devs Music

Sound Engineering Department – Devs Music

Article - Recording Acoustic Guitar

What we need – Basic needs?

A PC or laptop

Any DAW such as Protools

Audio Interface (1 -2 channels)

Studio Condenser Microphone (Large Diaphragm)

Semi Electric Guitars are good for Live Performances Mixing but for Studio Recording it is important to capture the whole sound produced by the Acoustic Guitar, such as the resonance produced by the body of the Guitar near the sound hole, the sharper sound created by the neck of the Guitar etc.

Mic Placement is very important.

Microphone should NOT be Place exactly in front of the Sound hole, Rather the Mic should be faced diagonally towards the neck. Mic should be 5-6 inches away from the Guitar.

Regards

Devs Music
